SUMMARY: Responsible for ensuring safety, quality, delivery and production standards are met as they relate to producing markerboards, tackboards and furniture products including laminating, upholstering, assembly and packaging.
REPORTS TO: Operations Supervisor
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Ensure all safety standards are being followed and unsafe acts or conditions are reported.
Maintain the work area’s cleanliness and organization.
Responsible for ensuring specified quality verifications are conducted.
Responsible for ensuring that Work Instructions are followed and quality parts are produced.
Communicate quality concerns/issues with Plant Manager and /or the Quality manager.
Interprets product specifications, prints, control plans, work instructions, process maps and production schedules with assistance as necessary.
Meets production schedules.
Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality and safety methods.
Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency.
Analyzes and resolves work problems, or works with team members in solving work problems.
Initiates or suggests ideas to help team members achieve work goals.
Coordinate with members of the team to operate work areas most efficiently.
Reports direct and indirect labor times, production quantities and throughput measurements as required.
Responsible for filling out required paperwork.
Ensure preventive maintenance is performed as required.
Assists in purchasing production materials when necessary.
Receive and inspect production materials, perform in process inspections as required by Work Instructions.
Follow the control of non-conforming material process.
Responsible for completion and accuracy of cycle counts as needed.
Responsible for pursuing further training opportunities for one’s own self advancement.
Responsible for final inspection and release of product. Ensure finished product is moved to the shipping areas needed.
Operate Hilo as necessary if licensed.
Responsible for completion and accuracy month-end inventory and cycle counts as needed.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and product information books. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
